At present, young women make up less than 1percent of parliamentarians, a fact that undercuts their vital contributions to the next generations. What can young women do to change this trend? Women can be influential in politics by being involved in public affairs, take leadership roles, and take the responsibility of their country.

However, if these two factors are accompanied by the political change that women’s representation in politics will be assured. Therefore, it is essential to act to ensure gender equality in politics. IRI also supports gender equality, inclusive policies and equal representation across all fields.
The United Nations established a Democracy Cohort for Women as a result of these accomplishments. This cohort will be focused on women’s political empowerment. The Democracy Cohort will work closely with women leaders to assist them implement reforms and evaluate their progress in fulfilling their commitments. The group has been approved by the United Nations. They will continue to collaborate closely throughout the Summit for Democracy’s Year of Action.
China’s women’s political representation has fallen from 25 percent to 10.9 percent from 2018 to 1975. However, when it comes to the economy, women are perceived to be more skilled in dealing with key policy issues.
Despite these challenges, many women feel that voters don’t want to choose women for high-ranking positions. They tend to blame gender discrimination and unequal expectations as the primary causes of women’s lack of representation in the political arena. This is the view of many males. A third of male politicians mention that gender discrimination is the main reason women aren’t elected to leadership posts. So why are there so very few women in the leadership ranks?
